""Change"" By Marina Popska

A dress inspired by the transformation from one stage to another.
It is the gray shell existence of a woman that opens up its senses for new life, a new reality.
By becoming part of the bright red tone her emotions, feelings and entire inner world evolves into fresh and pure shape. The positive energy welcomes her to breathe in and stay alive within the new atmosphere.

The colour blocking represents the two different stages:
• Inner dress body is made of solid light gray sand silk
• Side inserts creates volume from upper waist line level down - fabrication used is flower pattern lace in bright red tone over solid lighter layer background
• The same structure finishes polo neck collar
• Vest-like upper body and front belt elements are with solid red silk satin fabric
• Finishes for hem line, trimmings around the seams as well as contour lines are in black solid silk satin tape

Magic Touch

If i am holding a color brush filled with the morning flower drops, this would be my touch. A simple magic that creates one new dream for beauty and fresh colorful feeling. The clients who would love to enjoy my design are very fine aesthetic people, who truly appreciate the delicate simplicity of precious technology. Someone who would like to hold the morning dew in his hands.

  

Water Princes

The inspiration is a symbiosis between "water drop and the sound Princes"...the intensity of sound shapes the water when she looks her image like a mirror. Within а new representation we see the reflection of sound trough the gem stone drops, that appears as the color reflection of her beauty. In particular the designs will meet the needs of private clients with diverse and eccentric interests, and who truly appreciate beauty.Those are an adventurers and free minded "personas". Clients wiling to experiment within new directions where unusual combination becomes a lifestyle. What is more beautiful than enjoying a precious jewel that plays music and you can talk with your loved once with?

Evoque Fashion Award: Die Arbeiten der ersten Bewerber & Topshop-Gutschein zu gewinnen



In der vergangenen Woche ging die frohe Kunde vom Evoque Fashion Award, der von Range Rover, Garmz und Qvest ins Leben gerufen wurde, durch die deutsche Blogosphäre. Die Gewinner des Collection- und des Sketch-Contests dürfen sich über eine ordentlich Starthilfe ins Modebusiness freuen. Details findet ihr in meinem Post von letzter Woche.
Nun sind auch schon die ersten Entwürfe bei Garmz online. Besonders angetan haben es mir die Kleider von Marina Popska. "Light" nennt die Bulgarin aus Sofia ihre Kollektion mit der sie sich für den Evoque Fashion Award bewirbt. Kräftige Farben zu Nude-Tönen, abstrakte Muster und leichte Strickmode passen bestens zu meiner momentanen Frühlingsstimmung.

                Sally Congdon-Martin cut her teeth as a fashion writer while living in Shanghai, China, writing for local magazines about the fashion and retail scene.  She returned to the States and attended graduate school at Drexel University, earning her Master of Science in Fashion Design.  In that time, in addition to studying design intensely, she had enriching experiences such as assisting in the Drexel Historic Costume Collection, studying couture techniques in Paris, working the obligatory but none-the-less wonderful internships, and showing her work in the International Arts of Fashion competition.  In addition to her endeavors as a writer and designer, Sally works as a Pattern-maker/Technical Designer at a company outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is her second book on fashion designers.  As with her first book, she hopes this book will again bring recognition and opportunity to the students and appreciation for the schools that have shaped them. Ms. Congdon-Martin states, "The work in this book belongs to the designers, and I thank them for allowing it to be in print."
